How Our Team Applies Pre-Emergent

Mixing the product
We combine the pre-emergent chemical with water at the correct ratio, which is approximately 1.5 ounces of product per gallon of water. -
Even application across rock areas
The crew then sprays all rock areas of the yard evenly so the chemical coats the surface where weed seeds typically sit. -
Activating the product with water
After spraying, we thoroughly douse all treated areas with a water hose. This step is crucial. The water helps the chemical seep into the soil, where it forms a protective barrier that prevents weeds from sprouting.
A Quick Note for Non-Maintenance Clients
If your yard is not on one of our recurring maintenance schedules, you will likely need a power blow before receiving pre-emergent treatment. Any debris on the rock—leaves, plant litter, dirt buildup—can interfere with the chemical properly absorbing into the soil. A clean surface ensures maximum effectiveness and longer-lasting results.
